Majella wrote her first poem in September 2013 after signing up to Susan Millar DuMars' creative writing class at the Galway Technical Institute where she fell hopelessly in love with writing (thanks Susan!).
Since then she has been widely published and placed in many competitions. And now, in 2018, she holds a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Oxford.
Before taking up writing she was a photographer and before that, a teacher. You can find her photography on Facebook under Fotissima and you'll still find her most days teaching at a secondary school for boys in Co. Mayo, Ireland.
She has to keep the day job since she is unlikely to make her first million selling poems and somebody has to put her young fella through college! She is going to carry on writing regardless though, because she cannot imagine life without it.
She lives in Tuam, Co. Galway with her teenage son, Ethan.
