BBC Radio 3’s ‘Free Thinking’

This was such a great experience. It was brilliant to be included in the line-up for the BBC Radio 3’s programme ‘Free Thinking’. The episode was called ‘Ireland’s Hidden Histories & Secret Stories’. Also there was Jackie Uí Chionna, historian, Carmel McMahon, memoirist, & Louise Brangan, criminologist. The discussion was gripping and Prof John Gallagher from the University of Leeds was a gentleman & a scholar of a presenter. You can listen back here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001l4n8

Many thanks to Flirt FM for having us in to their studio at The University of Galway so that we could hook up with the BBC studios in Manchester.

A huge bonus to be in the Galway studio with my new friend Jackie. She has written a fascinating biography about Emily Anderson, Britain’s greatest code-breaker, called ‘Queen of Codes’. I cannot wait to get stuck into it!

Carmel McMahon’s new book In Ordinary Time sounds excellent too. It is on my ‘must read’ pile.
