The Rialto Pamphlet Competition Shortlist

So cool to make the final ten poets shortlisted by Richard Scott in the Rialto Pamphlet Competition. I love Richard Scott’s work, so it an extra privilege to have hime read them. What Richard said about my poems:

“I really loved these poems – they were riotous, busy with taut language and a musical assonance – and you make new worlds with each image – I will never look at a salmon egg or a Virginia creeper in the same way! So much work has happened here – your poems are crafted and crystallised – they were a privilege to read! And nothing escapes your poetic gaze – skulls, Bosch, Bruegel, jasmine tea! I feel as if there is nothing you cannot write about and charge with linguistic beauty and meaning! I have nothing but admiration for your writing and cannot wait to read more!”

Much congrats to the others shortlisted and to the winner Anita Pati.
